Why security testing matters, even for small businesses
Attackers do not only target large enterprises. Here is why the software you run every day should be tested like a bank’s.
Hexa Secure Labs ·

It is easy to assume that only large companies get attacked. In practice, automated tools scan the internet for weak systems of every size, and smaller businesses often have fewer defences.
What security testing looks for
A penetration test (often called VAPT, for vulnerability assessment and penetration testing) examines an application the way an attacker would: weak logins, exposed data, broken access controls and outdated components.
Why it matters for the software you buy
Your billing, patient or customer system holds exactly the data attackers want. If that software has never been tested, you are relying on luck.
What to ask your software provider
- Are releases tested for security before they ship?
- Is data encrypted in transit and at rest?
- Are user actions logged so you can see who changed what?
- How are backups handled and tested?
How Hexa approaches it
Hexa Secure Labs started as a security company. Every application we ship is reviewed by the same team that runs penetration tests for other organisations.
